Getting started
Seal is a goal savings app. You create a named "envelope", set an unlock date, and seal money inside. On-time unsealing is always free. Early unsealing applies a 3.5% Commitment Fee (tier-capped, max $150).

Envelopes & sealing
As many as you want. Each envelope has its own goal name, target amount, and unlock date.
Yes — you can always add more funds to an existing envelope. The seal just grows.
Solo envelopes can be unsealed partially or fully — you choose the amount. Group Pacts are full-unseal only in v1.
You can unseal for $0. The funds transfer back to your bank via ACH, typically 1–3 business days.
Fees
$0. Always.
3.5% of the amount you unseal early, capped based on your envelope balance. Under $500 → max $25. $500–$2,499 → max $50. $2,500–$9,999 → max $75. $10,000+ → max $150.
No. No monthly fees, no account fees, no deposit fees. The only fee is the Commitment Fee on early unsealing.
Yes. If you unseal $500 early and owe $17.50, you receive $482.50.
Group Pacts
2 to 5 members (including you).
Majority approval: 2 of 3, 3 of 4, or 3 of 5. There's a 48-hour vote window. No vote = no approval.
Not in v1. The seal is a commitment for everyone. The group would need to vote to approve an early unseal.
Yes. Each member connects their own bank and seals their own contribution. No shared accounts.
Money & safety
Seal is a fintech company, not a bank. We plan to hold customer funds with regulated financial partners and will disclose custody and any applicable insurance details in-app before deposits are enabled.
The Commitment Fee on early unseals is Seal's primary revenue. We also plan to earn affiliate commissions through partner rewards (travel, retail) — disclosed in-app.
No. Seal Envelope funds do not currently earn interest.
Deposits and withdrawals are made via ACH. Transfer timing varies and can take 1–3 business days.
