By accessing or using Seal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including those who browse, register, or contribute to savings envelopes.
Seal is a financial technology platform that enables users to create time-locked savings envelopes individually or as part of group savings pacts ("Group Pacts"). Seal is not a bank. We plan to hold customer funds with regulated financial partners and will disclose all custody arrangements and any applicable insurance details in-app before deposits are enabled.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States to use Seal. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Seal charges a 3.5% Commitment Fee on early withdrawals (Unsealing before the designated unlock date). The Commitment Fee is tier‑capped based on envelope balance (max $150 per envelope) and is deducted from your payout. There are no fees for on‑time withdrawals. See our full Fee Schedule for details.
Seal is not a bank. We plan to hold customer funds with regulated financial partners. Full custody arrangements and any applicable deposit insurance details will be disclosed in-app before deposits are enabled. Seal is committed to transparency about how your funds are held and protected.
Group Pacts are limited to a maximum of 5 members. Early unsealing requires majority approval within 48 hours (2 of 2, 2 of 3, 3 of 4, or 3 of 5). No vote = no approval. In the current version, Group Pact early unseals are full-unseal only — individual members may not partially withdraw early. Each member is responsible for their own contribution. Seal is not liable for disputes between group members.
You may not use Seal for money laundering, fraud, or any illegal activity. Seal reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court. YOU AND SEAL WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. You may opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing legal@getseal.io within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seal Financial Technologies, LLC and its officers, members, and agents from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, sealed funds will be returned to your linked bank account, subject to processing timelines and applicable law.
The Service, including all content, branding, and software, is owned by Seal Financial Technologies, LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
