What happens if I need my money early?

Is my money safe?
Seal is not a bank. We plan to hold customer funds with regulated financial partners and will disclose custody and any insurance details in-app before deposits are enabled. We design Seal to be transparent about fees, approvals, and activity logs.
How do Group Pacts work?
Create a shared goal, invite up to 4 friends (5 members total), and each person contributes their own share. Early unsealing requires approval from 3 of 5 members within 48 hours (or 2 of 3, 3 of 4, etc.). No vote = no approval. For Group Pacts, early unseals are full-unseal only (for now).
Can I partially unseal a solo envelope?
Yes. Solo envelopes can be unsealed early partially or fully — you choose the amount. Group Pacts are full-unseal only for now.
How long do deposits and withdrawals take?
Deposits and withdrawals are made via ACH. Transfer timing varies and can take a few business days.
Can I have multiple envelopes?
Yes — create as many solo or group envelopes as you need. Each envelope has its own goal, date, and balance. Fees apply per envelope if unsealed early.
How does Seal help us save more?
After your circle reaches its target, members will be able to access travel perks and curated retailer offers through Seal's upcoming rewards program. We're building a network that rewards your discipline with real savings.
Are there any other fees?
The only fee is the Commitment Fee on early unsealing. No monthly fees, no account fees, no deposit fees.
What is Smart Buy?
Smart Buy is a reward that unlocks on your goal date. It helps you find reputable places to buy what you saved for—then we link you out to checkout.
Which stores do you recommend?
We prioritize direct brands and major retailers (like Apple, Best Buy, Nike, and Nordstrom).
Do you support resale?
Yes—optional authenticated resale (StockX, GOAT, The RealReal, Vestiaire). For eBay, we only surface listings covered by eBay Authenticity Guarantee.
Do I check out in Seal?
No. Seal redirects you to the retailer/resale partner to complete checkout. Authentication (when available) is handled by the partner’s program.
